Foundation Workshop

Foundation WorkshopSince the opening of the Foundation Workshop in Accra, Ghana in 2004 the carpenters have been working flat out to keep up the workload. Everything was made by hand, thus making each item hugely labour intensive and expensive to sell on. Shortly after opening, equipment unused for over 10 years in the UK was donated to the project and The Jubilee Foundation sent a 40ft container to Ghana with all the equipment including several saw benches and other carpentry machines. A school in Bedford donated a whole workshop a short time after, which in particular provided a much needed grinder to maintain the equipment already in place.

Through teaching of carpentry skills, beams, window frames, desks and stools, book shelves and kitchen cupboards for the new building for a local school have been made. The carpentry workshop has been a wonderful asset in helping to build the new building for New Nation School.
